For us Christmas time already starts in April. Because that's when ideas for our new Advent calendar are generated. The brief is very simple: At least one candle, a scale for 24 days, easy to assemble in few steps, include a "ready made" that's available to purchase anywhere and no bigger than 5x30x22 cm packaged. All these aspects have to be implemented for 15€ or less per calendar. For months, concepts are worked out and discarded, tests are carried out and countless candles are lit. The prototype is greenlit in July and the production of around 330 calendars – which is supported by all team members – must be completed by the beginning of November. Project delays are not allowed. Every year, without exception, major struggles were overcome in development and implementation. Struggles that will help the individuals better understand the obstacles that our customers have to deal with during every product development. 26 calendars in 26 years also mean that quite a few customers' children have grown up with them. That's why we get the same question every year: "Will there be a new one this year?". A question that motivates us to start the pre-Christmas period every April and we hope that we will not run out of ideas for a long time to come...
